All visitors to Rare Books must sign in the visitor log. Before using Rare Books material, researchers will be required to read and sign the Procedures and Rules for Users*. Researchers may download a PDF* of this form in advance and bring the completed and signed form on their first visit. With the exception of the reference collection, all material is located in closed stacks and must be retrieved by staff. Staff does not page books less than 30 minutes before closing. Researchers are required to request material in advance of their visit so that staff may have it ready upon their arrival.
Researchers may find cataloged material using SearchBox, the search interface for all library materials available at Catholic University. Many of the books in the department remain uncataloged and readers should consult department staff for assistance in finding materials located in card catalogs or databases of individual collections.
